Power Support Anti-Glare Film for iPhone

A big fan of screen protectors having owned a number of PDA’s and other handheld devices with large screens, getting screen protection for the iPhone was a must straight from the off. I bought the anti-glare films (two in the pack) for a tenner at the same time as the phone.

That might sound a bit much to some and I’ll admit I’ve purchased the cheaper variety from eBay for previous devices but these films are worth the fiver each. The anti-glare version is great for cutting down reflective glare when using the phone in bright outdoor conditions and it also adds a really nice feel to the screen which actually makes it even easier and nicer to use.

The set also comes with a third film strip which is applied to the screen and then removed to lift remainng dust from the surface before applying one of the proper strips.

If you haven’t already got one fitted to your iPhone then what are you waiting for?

Finally: iPhone Lust Fulfilled

It seems like an age has passed since iPhones first hit the (US) shelves at the end of June 2007, followed hot on the heels by the release of the iPhone 3G. A long time to wait when you’ve wanted one from day one.

But it’s been worth the wait (missing out on the majority of functional issues and questionable 3G network availability to begin what is (hopefully) 18 months of iPhone goodness. Sure 18 months is a long time but no longer than previous mobile contracts, in fact it’s pretty much the norm nowadays.

So a trip to the Apple shop in Birmingham, and around about an hour wait/setup process later and out I walk with the very own 16GB iPhone in white. Rather than pay the £159 for the phone on the £35 a month tariff I opted for the £59 phone cost on the £45 a month tarrif.

This actually works out very slightly cheaper as O2 let you change tariff after 9 months, so dropping to the £35 a month tariff at this time means the first 9 months will have cost you £90 more than on the lower monthly payment, but you’ll have saved £100 on the purchase of the iPhone, and you’ll have benefited from the higher amount of call minutes and texts per month on the higher tariff. Nice.

Okay so it’s still expensive and I do have a typical male obsession with gadgets but I’m normally pretty good with my choice of gadgets so I’m hoping this won’t prove to be the exception. More to follow.
